Buddhist Wisdom

The most important thing in life is realizing that nothing is truly important.

An uphill path is good because it is uphill.
A downhill path is good because it is downhill.

Let go of the thought that “I will be happy only if I have this.”
That thought is poison.

Every choice carries its consequences.

Giving without attachment.

The mind that simply watches the autumn leaves.

Hatred walks hand in hand with love.
Expectation is the root of hatred.
That is not true love.
That is a transaction.

Do you think that if you let go of desire, motivation will disappear?
It will not.

Everyone has the right to be happy.

The third way.

The middle path.

Awareness.

Nirvana — the quiet, still inner self.

Here.
Now.

Awaken instantly, and be happy forever.

The cause of indecision is greed.

Failure and frustration are not the same.
Frustration does not come from failure.
Frustration comes from desire.

Karma.
If you have been happy until now, you will continue to be happy.
If you have been unhappy until now, you will continue to be unhappy.

Whatever happens is okay.

Because of that person, I am able to live.

The perspective must change.

Human life is like a single blade of grass growing by the side of the road.
Not very different from an ant or a squirrel.

Seen from a little higher up, everything looks the same.

The lighter we hold life,
the greater life becomes.
